Iran steps onto the exhibition floor for the first time


Iran will debut as the Iranian tour company, Nadia Parvaz, unveils their plans to enter the Russian market.

Lily Sadri, General Director, Nadia Parvaz, comments: “We want to introduce Iran as a new destination for Russians. Last year, the number of Russian tourists to Iran (based on UNWTO statistical data) equaled 19,159 people - this shows a reasonable increase over the years”.

During a recent meeting in Moscow, the Iranian Ambassador to Russia, Mahdi Sanaei, and the President of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia, Maya Lomidze, underlined the need to establish ways of promoting tourism cooperation between the two countries.

Ms Sadri comments: “Issuing a visa for Russian tourists is a very simple and short process. On arrival they can be issued with a visa for two weeks at various airports (IKA, Tabriz, Shiraz and Mashhad). Furthermore, due to the Iran Embassy’s attempts, it is probable that in the near future Russians won't have any obligations to obtain a visa”.

Iran has been working on developing several diverse tourism packages. Speaking about Iran’s onsite activity, Ms Sadri says: “We will present Iranian live music, carpet fabricate (the process of making a rug) and serve traditional tea at our stand. In addition, our travel specialists will also provide visitors with useful information about Iran - in both Russian and English.”

In 2015, Nadia Parvaz will run a Fam Trip for Russian tour operators to introduce Iran as a new market.

Attendees at MITT 2015 will be able to visit the Nadia Parvaz stand in the forum pavilion.
